SWAT/EOD Integration

Improvised Explosive Devices have become the low cost weapon of choice by terrorists and domestic criminals. In modern tactical enforcement operations, responder must be able to identify IEDs and their components. Responders must be able to integrate EOD Technicians into threat assessments and operations. The integration of EOD and SWAT to covertly or dynamically address IEDs during tactical operations is principle for mission success. Failure to successfully integrate both disciplines compromises the overall operational objective.

Tactical Electronics’ SWAT/EOD Integration Training Course bridges the gap between Tactical and EOD Operators through interoperability skills training. The focal point of this training course encompasses the integration of SWAT and EOD to effectively respond to IEDs in tactical environments. Attendees will participate in classroom study, practical, and situational training exercises intended to apply operational principles, enhanced specialized skill sets, and operational planning to deal with IED threats during tactical operations.

Students Will:
• Examine current trends related to terrorist tactics and IEDs
• Receive advanced training for device recognition, device marking, sensor identification, triggering mechanisms, explosives orientation, and defeat tactics
• Receive advanced training for tactical movements, threat engagements and response protocols
• Conduct operational threat assessments to enhance mission planning

Upon Completion:
• Graduates will possess an in-depth understanding of operational priority protocols, while participating in tactics utilization and IED defeat exercises
• SWAT Operator Graduates will possess the knowledge, skill and ability to interact with Bomb Technicians while dealing with IED threats during tactical operations
• Bomb Technician Graduates will possess the knowledge, skill and ability to interact with SWAT Operators while dealing with IED threats during tactical operations
• Graduates will leave with course reference materials
