Methodology

TE has developed a solid methodology to identify the specific tactical needs of our clients. We believe that fostering collaboration and insight in partnership with our clients is vital to maximizing results.

The Idea

Moments of inspiration come to us all. What differentiates TE is our ability to work with our clients to clearly identify the objective they what to achieve. It is the first step of a process that takes a client’s idea from concept to a fully operational solution that exceeds expectations. The initial stage of development includes:

  • Clearly defining the scope and objectives in a Preliminary Requirements Document
  • Conducting a Cost Analysis/Profitability Assessment

The final stage before moving forward is to hold a Project Approval meeting to discuss the idea and cost analysis to get approval to move forward to the next stage.

Initiation and Planning

As the project moves forward, the first task is to design the initial blueprints in unison with the development of the budget and project timeline.

The Project Blueprint Draft includes:

  • Finalized Requirement Document
  • Resource Plan
  • Materials and Labor Budget
  • Risk Matrix

The final step of the Initiation and Planning stage is a meeting with the client and Executive Committee to review and finalize the Blueprint Draft and the items it covers. This is when the final decision is made to green light the project.

Research & Development

Execution

Every project has a unique set of parameters and objectives; however, the following is a general description of how the R&D team guides a project through the development process.

The Work Project Plan

  • The Mechanical Engineering team, working hand-in-hand with the Electrical Engineering team defines the size and dimensions to create 3D concept housing as a preliminary design
  • With state-of-the-art 3D printing capabilities in-house, the preliminary housing design is printed on-site to verify form fit factor. This provides an astronomical benefit to the client because TE does not need to go through the labor and cost intensive process of machining the preliminary housing. All the tweaks and adjustments are made using the 3D printer – maximizing efficiency and minimizing costs.
  • Once the design has been finalized using the 3D printer, an in-house CNC Programmer takes the 3D design files and programs them for machining
  • Machining is done on one of our in-house CNC machines
  • Once the final housing has been machined and all the components ordered the final product is assembled and tested to verify successful operation.
  • At this point, the client is reunited with the team to conduct the Acceptance Test to verify the quality and effectiveness of the product.

Marketing

With the product approved, TE creates the Marketing materials that will be used to promote the product which include:
  • Instruction Manual
  • Cut/Slick Sheets

The final step of the process is to:

  • Product Delivery Deliver the Product
  • Conduct Product Follow-up
  • Review Product Feedback
