Matthew McAlister - Director of Training, Crusader

Mr. McAlister is a decorated 20 year U.S. Navy Veteran, retiring as a Senior Chief Petty Officer (SCPO) and Master Explosive Ordnance Technician. He has accumulated 18 years of professional expertise within US Navy EOD and EOD SOF community. Mr. McAlister has led EOD teams during multiple combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan supporting Special Operations Forces. He provided subject matter expertise related to operating in hazardous environments and the mitigated techniques of explosive hazards threatening assault forces/hostages during direct action missions. Matthew has proven experience in IED defeat and IED threat assessment with a thorough knowledge of energetic and manual render safe procedures, and IED electronic diagnostics. Throughout his service career, he has trained hundreds of EOD technicians and U.S. Army Special Forces soldiers and contributed to the development essential curriculum addressing WMD threats, IED recognition, and explosive hazard mitigation.
